When Algorithms Sculpt Time.
At the origin of the MU05-106 ARCHITECT is not a technical brief, but an encounter. Christophe Musy, a watchmaking engineer driven by pure mechanics. Arturo Tedeschi, an algorithmic architect accustomed to impossible forms.
Within the Manufacture, the encounter goes beyond product. It speaks of intent, trust and limits to be pushed. The idea is radical: allow the algorithm to propose forms no one would have dared to draw, then ask Swiss engineering at Mauron Musy to make them possible. Inside the workshop, a small team transforms data into volume and light, without ever compromising the brand’s DNA: a Swiss Crafted watch, water resistant without gaskets thanks to nO-Ring® technology, built to last.
Produced in a limited series, ARCHITECT is the trace of this human exchange: a dialogue between two worlds, where precision remains the common language, and where the hand that adjusts the final detail matters as much as the algorithm that inspired it.
The Art of Algorithmic Design A Visionary Collaboration
Arturo Tedeschi is a leading figure in algorithmic and parametric design, known for reshaping architecture, industrial design and now fine watchmaking. For years, he has explored how computational processes can move beyond traditional constraints and generate structures that are organic, futuristic and deeply expressive.
For the ARCHITECT, his expertise in computational aesthetics opens new territory in watch design. Rather than drawing lines by hand, Arturo writes algorithms that generate evolving forms, deliberately unpredictable. From this approach emerges a dial architecture that does not merely decorate the watch. It interacts with light, void and depth like a true micro architecture.
Beyond a simple collaboration, a shared vision connects Arturo Tedeschi and Christophe Musy: to unite Swiss mechanical craftsmanship with the avant garde of computational creativity. The ARCHITECT embodies this dialogue. It is its mechanical expression.
The Story of a Project Born from Dialogue
The collaboration between Christophe Musy and Arturo Tedeschi did not begin with a sketch, but with a conversation inside the Manufacture. In the workshop, the discussion revolves around mechanical constraints, gasket free water resistance, internal volumes. On the screen, Arturo generates algorithm driven structures, fluid, asymmetrical, far removed from traditional dials.
Very quickly, the project becomes a constant exchange between these two worlds. Models evolve, some are set aside, others pushed to their limits. The dial takes shape across three levels, designed to capture light and open windows onto the skeleton movement.
The series is highly exclusive: limited in number to preserve its character, yet sufficient to establish its place in history. Each watch bears the discreetly engraved signatures “μμ” and “AT”, the trace of a dialogue transformed into an object. When Arturo returns to the Manufacture to receive his own ARCHITECT, the project reaches its completion. What began as a collaboration becomes a lasting bond. Today, Arturo is a friend of the Maison, and the ARCHITECT remains its witness.
